Oxford Federal Credit Union will never send you an email, text message or voice message requesting your personal or account information. We also will not change the login process to our online banking product, CU Anywhere, without notifying you in advance and will never ask for credit, debit, ATM card or personal information, when logging into CU Anywhere.
Zeusbot is a particularly nasty malware that is bypassing top AntiVirus / Malware scanners. Once a member's PC is infected, it waits for the user to log in to their online banking, records their login credentials, then pops up a screen that asks the user to further verify their login by entering their credit card data. All information gathered is sent back to the criminals.
While some users may be skeptical and not enter their data, the damage is already done. The online banking credentials have been compromised.
If infected, you should:
- Refrain from using your personal computer until you have removed the infection, or take your personal computer to a qualified technician to remove the malicious program.
- Notify Oxford Federal Credit Union and immediately change the online banking account passwords
- Monitor your account for activity you did not initiate.
Members are urged to contact Oxford Federal Credit Union immediately if you have given out your card number, account number or PIN information over the phone or online, or if you notice an unexpected change in the login process for online banking.
