Card Services has been advised by several credit unions of an apparent telephone scam affecting their members. Cardholders are receiving messages stating that their card is over limit and they will be charged a $60.00 fee unless they call the 800# provided in the message. When the cardholder calls the number they are prompted to enter their social security number and their card number. Once this information has been entered the call ends.  

If a cardholder has disclosed this information, they should block the affected cards immediately and monitor transactions on the account. If fraud does occur, transactions can be reviewed for dispute rights.
